HGH Fragment 176-191 (AOD9401) is a fragment of the C-chain end of human growth hormone (hGH), responsible for its lipolytic properties. It is composed of the last 16 amino acid sequence from positions 176 to 191 and represents less than 10% of the total size of the hGH molecule. AOD9401 is often confused with AOD9604 as both compounds are very similar to each other (AOD9604 is a string of amino acids from positions 177-191 with an additional tyrosine molecule)
FRAGMENT GH MECHANISM OF ACTION
HGH Fragment 176-191, unlike growth hormone, is not able to bind to the GH receptor in the cell, therefore it does not increase the level of IGF-1 and does not exhibit anabolic activity. On the other hand, it affects beta (3) adrenergic receptors, responsible mainly for the breakdown of fat in cells, thanks to which it still maintains the lipolytic effect of hGH. The compound has a more specific effect compared to the “whole” hGH molecule: it activates the protein kinase C (PKC) pathway, stimulates hormone-sensitive lipase (HSL), inhibits the activity of lipoprotein lipase (LPL) and acetyl-CoA carboxylase in adipocytes and the liver, as well as reduces the use of glucose in the lipogenesis process.
By inhibiting lipogenesis, HGH Fragment 176-191 will also be used during periods of building muscle mass, limiting the accumulation of adipose tissue and helping to maintain good insulin sensitivity.
