WHAT IS EPITHALON?

Epithalon is a short peptide made of four amino acids: alanine, glutamic acid, aspartic acid and glycine (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly). It is a synthetic version of epitalamine (a peptide naturally produced in the pineal gland), developed by prof. Vladimir Khavinson at the St. Petersburg Institute of Gerontology and Bioregulation. It shows a very wide range of biological activities, is an effective activator of telomerase and a stimulator of melatonin release. It is known as the longevity peptide because it has a powerful rejuvenating potential, promotes life extension and reduces the risk of senile diseases. In addition, it has a positive effect on the endocrine, nervous and immune systems. It can also restore normal circadian rhythms.

Epithalon and the antioxidant potential

studies have proven that Epithalon has a beneficial effect on the activity of key endogenous antioxidant enzymes (SOD, GPX, GST). Thus, it strengthens the body’s antioxidant barrier and protects against oxidative stress in the system, which is associated with accelerated aging and is one of the main risk factors for civilization diseases.

Activation of telomerase

The main mechanism of action of Epithalon is associated with an increase in the activity of the telomerase enzyme, which allows for the elongation of telomeres, which are a specific predictor of the biological age of the organism. It has been scientifically proven that high telomerase activity and sufficiently long telomeres have a significant impact on the regeneration processes, herald a longer life and indicate a lower risk of aging diseases. Thanks to these properties, the peptide is perfect for anti-aging treatments that are aimed at rejuvenating the body, slowing down aging and eliminating its signs. It can also be successfully used in sports medicine as a means of accelerating regeneration and supporting the treatment of injuries.

Circadian rhythm control

Research shows that Epithalon stimulates the release of melatonin, which is responsible for the normal rhythm of sleep and wakefulness. Scientists have observed that with age, the production of this hormone decreases, which results in disturbance of the circadian rhythm and deterioration of sleep quality. This has far-reaching consequences for mental and physical health. It has been proven that sleep deprivation and its poor quality weaken immunity, worsen mood, increase the risk of depression, and adversely affect memory and cognitive functions. By the way, it is worth mentioning that melatonin is classified as the so-called geroprotectors, i.e. agents that fight the main causes of aging and prolong life.

Immunomodulatory properties

Epithalon can help prevent the adverse changes that occur in your immune system over time. It has been observed to support the proliferation of T lymphocytes in the thymus, which translates into an increase in the production of gamma interferon. This is important because the decrease in the synthesis of this cytokine is indicated as one of the reasons for the decreased immunity in the elderly.

Improvement of metabolic parameters

Epithalon helps to improve the functioning of the body and improve overall health, which is reflected in the results of research. It has been observed that in some patients it took as little as 10 days of peptide treatment to return the elevated levels of cholesterol, uric acid and alkaline phosphatase to normal. Epithalon has also been proven to improve glucose tolerance and increase tissue sensitivity to insulin.

Epithalon dosage

Epithalon is systemic, therefore it does not matter where on the body it is injected. It is most often administered subcutaneously by injection under the skin on the abdomen or upper arm. Alternatively, an intramuscular injection can be made, preferably into the gluteal muscle.
The dosage of Epithalon depends on your medical condition and the goal you are trying to achieve. This measure is most often used cyclically according to the following schemes:
The so-called Russian protocol:
– 100 mg in total during the treatment
– 10 mg subcutaneously or intramuscularly for 10 days
– repeat twice a year
The so-called Ukrainian protocol:
– 50 mg in total during the treatment
– 10 mg subcutaneously or intramuscularly every third day for 2 weeks
– repeat twice a year

Epithalon for hair:

Epithalon can also be used in doses of 1-2 mg, which significantly improves the condition of the skin and hair. Low doses can be taken calmly for 12 weeks which gives a lasting effect

STORAGE

Epithalon in the form of freeze-dried powder and reconstituted solution should be stored in the refrigerator (do not freeze).
Epithalon in the form of a freeze-dried powder, chilled to 2-8 degrees Celsius, can be stored for 24 months. At room temperature (up to 37 degrees Celsius) it can be stored for no longer than 90 days.
The prepared Epithalon solution should be stored in a refrigerator at 2 – 8 degrees Celsius (do not freeze) and used within 20 days.
